Grace Walk Farm

About Grace Walk Farm

Hidden in the rolling foothills of North Carolina, we found three acres with good farmland, a peaceful creek, and room to dream.

Grace Walk Farm was born.

Meet Josh

Josh is a pastor, fruit farmer, and devoted family man whose life is rooted in faith, community, and the land. As the shepherd of a small community church on a farm in rural North Carolina, Josh blends his calling to ministry with a hands-on love for sustainable living at Grace Walk Farm, where he lives with his wife, Amber, and their children.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Josh met Amber as high school sweethearts, forging a partnership that has endured for 22 years. His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, followed by a year of graduate-level study in church planting and evangelism, equipping him to lead with wisdom and vision.

At their farm church, he nurtures a tight-knit congregation, offering sermons that resonate with his favorite quote: “God doesn’t love a future version of you,” a reminder of grace in the present moment.

On the farm, Josh oversees the fruit orchard, cultivating apples and peaches with the same care he brings to his flock. Known as the “animal whisperer,” he tends to the goats and chickens with a gentle hand, taking extra time to connect with each creature, reflecting his belief in the sanctity of all life.

Whether pruning trees, preaching on Sundays, or guiding his family through the rhythms of rural life, Josh embodies a quiet strength and a love that extends from the pulpit to the pasture.

Together with Amber, Josh has built Grace Walk Farm into a haven of resilience and abundance, blending their shared values of faith, family, and self-sufficiency. His days are a testament to the harmony of hard work and heartfelt purpose, inspiring those around him to find joy in the here and now.

Meet Amber

Amber has gained recognition as a sustainable farmer, herbalist, and advocate for backyard self-sufficiency. She lives at Grace Walk Farm with her husband Josh and their children.

Amber’s backstory is often surprising to people who only know her now. She’s a trained victim advocate with a professional history of working with women struggling with addiction and survivors of sex trafficking. But her health eventually became such a challenge that she had to step away from social work.

Her personal health journey significantly shaped her current path: at age 5, she was bitten by a tick during a family vacation, developed a bullseye rash, and fell ill, but Lyme disease went undiagnosed for 34 years. Misdiagnosed, she endured decades of health struggles, including infertility, multiple miscarriages, preterm births, multiple surgeries, and autoimmune diseases.

It wasn’t until 2022, at age 39, that a naturopath helped her find the root of her symptoms and get a diagnosis of Lyme disease.

Amber spent a year pursuing natural treatment with herbs, homeopathy, nutrition, and an intensive detox program.

Today, Amber is healthy and whole, living her homestead dreams at Grace Walk Farm, where she grows her own food and medicinal herbs, sharing her knowledge through platforms like Instagram (@gracewalkfarm) with over 650,000 followers.

She teaches gardening workshops monthly, including topics like organic pest control and canning for beginners. She loves digging into the heart of the matter and breaking down the barriers that stop most beginner gardeners from successfully growing food.

Amber has studied herbalism through numerous educational institutes and mentorships. She has studied at Herbal Academy, Lost Skills Academy, and Integrative Health Practitioners Institute.

She maintains a small, informal apothecary, offering herbal remedies like tinctures and salves to her local community, driven by a personal, prayerful approach rather than a formal business.

When she isn’t in the garden or cooking for her kids in the kitchen, you’ll often find Amber with her Bible and a cup of tea on the front porch.

Our Mission

We grow a large portion of our food in the garden, have a small fruit orchard, raise chickens and rabbits, and continue to build onto our homestead each month.

From growing food to raising animals to dehydrating, canning, and cooking, we share our progress, our victories, and our failures.

Our hope is to encourage you to jump in and start your own homestead in your backyard.

Whether it’s a few chickens for fresh eggs or a couple of garden boxes, small changes can make a big difference so start where you are today.
